Great light show - loved the snowflake patterns against the Cathedral as well - thanks !
Just for fun, I put a quick 3-minute movie of it together. However the quality of both camera and operator do not really do the experience any justice - I’ll try again next Xmas !
I’ve now posted a 10 minute video, photo’s and info about Light Up Bristol, on my website! I’m going to be blogging about this on various technology sites.. come and take a look:
We 4 adults loved the light show on Tuesday night - and the snow, mulled wine and hot chestnuts! The Cathedral looked positively psychedelic and the many and varied colourful transformations of the Council House were great fun. I saw the old place in a copletely different light !!
I’m not sure it would appeal to small children on a very cold night for longer than 15 minutes but then what does?
Bristol needs to do more of this type of humorous large scale event - especially linked as this was to city’s wonderful creative industries. Maybe Circomedia, Physical Jerks or other informal acts could come along too? How about hot soup? good fish and chips? other stalls???
More next year please!

Loved it. Was an amazing sight to see all the colour and animations. Hell, yes, this is soooo BRISTOL!!!
Well done to all involved in last night’s launch we thought the projections were fantastic and a real step-on from last year. The snow was a touch of brilliance.
This is the sort of thing will put Bristol on the map in years to come

Nice idea to run something lively at the College Green! Having such a nice open space right at the city centre, the City Council may consider organising some big events every once a while, like new year count down or so. Big cities like Bristol really need big events for their people!
Thanks for the effort, and Merry Christmas!

Hiya, turned up with my two young children, expecting a brilliant ‘CHRISTMASSY’ night, only to find that we went into town for a ‘SURPRISE’ meal, as the kids were highly unammused, and expecting the surprise as promised, and myself and partner VERY disappointed.
So much for the hype……..what a let down and anti climax.
This event had soooooo much potential, but unfortunately you failed to reach it.
MERRY CHRISTMAS anyway!!!
